A 62 year old Vietnamese Vinyl lover is enjoying tons of vinyl records in his collection that ranges from Hong Kong Songs to Russian Music. The painter Vu Dan Tan is showing a lot of his collections that came from far away places. 10 antique record players and nearly 1,000 records for you to take note of. His love of music and painting awakens when he was just a six years old kid. His father gave to him his first record in French so that he will know the language.
"Since then, I have really grown to love these old players," recounts Tan. "Anytime I see the needle flying over the record, and sounding out classical sounds and sweet melodies, I feel refreshed."He has a wide array of records that came from as far as Russia, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hong Kong, Japan and Viet Nam.
He describes vinyls as really an amazing piece of the past that you will be reminded of the times. It has a warmer sound than at this time’s crop of music storage media. CDs have the trouble in delivering the true sound because of compression rates. It is also the same as digital records too.
"It’s nothing compared to young collectors now," says Tan. "They have many better collections with unique players and records. One such collector, painter Quach Dong Phuong, owns an old amplifier made by the Western Electric company in 1956."
"There are classics that surpass time and can become immortal: classical music, ancient players and vinyl records."
It is true.
