Vinyl sales rise in region despite digital era

Don’t call it a comeback.

Vinyl records are still alive as a music format, and sales of used and new albums actually are growing regionally and nationally in the era of iPods and declining CD sales.

As LPs lost favor in the music industry in the 1990s, replaced with cassettes and CDs, many feared the format would be lost forever. But records are thriving once again as customers from audiophiles to casual music fans are making the joys (and inconveniences) of the turntable cool again.
