Bob Dylan a Prophet?

Bob Dylan, music icon of the '60s, mumbled lyrics before enthralled teens during a turbulent decade, maybe unaware his words contained prescience beyond the understanding of his audience.

“Times They are A-Changin',” said he. “Your old road is rapidly agin'. Please get out of the new one if you can't lend your hand. For the times they are a-changin'.”

I was reminded of those words while reading several articles over the last few weeks heralding the wonders of the Internet and other articles warning of its snares.

Decades ago the Department of Defense, Rand Corp. and some private companies were working on computer systems to provide national security. Little did those scientists know their work would have such impact beyond its original purpose.
