What Made Guns and Roses named their Album Chinese Democracy?

Guns and Roses album called Chinese Democracy gets a fair share of kudos amidst China's rants on the Album's title. China doesn't wanted to be touted upon by the west on its Human Rights records. Moreover, it chooses to instill iron rule on its citizens about freedom and democracy. But for the Guns N Roses they have a mind of its own.

What really made Guns and Roses decide to name their album Chinese Democracy?

Axl Rose vehemently say that his album is not about telling the Chinese Authorities about their way of ruling their people. It is just a form of expression whereby we as GNR are telling the world how good we are at a democratic level. Actually it is just a cover and no hurting feelings for the Chinky Reds.

Axl: Yes there are. There are 2 more covers/bk cover combos and the real booklet that is all artwork that will be out shortly in some form. It's been an ugly battle that hasn't made any sense to anyone and whether anyone cares about such things the booklet or artwork has always been something I've been passionate about and to release the album with unapproved and unseen final artwork with a !st work only error filled draft when others more recent were readily available still has not been explained but is finally getting cleared up. My fave is the How Are You Grenade cover.

Is this bullying the Chinese Communist Regime?



No it isn't, it is just art nothing more and nothing less.
