How Barry Manilow Became a Singer?

Barry Manilow had been the best balladeer performer who had popularized the hit songs "Can't Smile With out you", "Somewhere Down the Road", Mandy, and many more. How he became a singer is really a big question? Let's explore how he got to be a balladeer.

Actually his real name is Barry Alan Pincus. He has a lonely childhood , because his mother and his dad had divorced. Young Barry had to cope with the loss. His interest in music had been obvious when he was at a young age his Jewish Grand Dad and Mom gave him an accordion. His love for music increase more when his step father, Willie Murphy, brought an extensive collection of jazz and swing records into the house.

Then on his 13th Birthday, Willie gave him a Piano during his Bar Mitzvah. Manilow performed locally for small businesses and parties. He graduated from Eastern District High School in New York in 1961. After his graduation in highschool, Barry work on a playgirl magazine and the Julliard school while working on CBS to pay his expenses.

Manilow met Bro Herrod, a director, who asked him to arrange some public domain songs for the musical adaptation of the melodrama, The Drunkard. The hard headed Manilow wrote a new score which led the Musical to become a success for 8 years at the 13th Street New York.

Barry Manilow was a full time columnist on Playboy Magazine. He had to chose which is which his music or his day job. He chose the later. Manilow then earned money by working as a pianist, producer, and arranger. He has said of that time that he played piano for anybody: "If the check cleared, I was there."

Then right there he made a lot of singing gigs and musical jingles for ads on Televisions and Radio that earned him 2 Clio Awards. That is really terrific.
